The guide ยท Claude Code mods
8 Claude Code mods worth installing.
Mods are plugins that change what Claude Code draws and does: a progress bar above your prompt, a file tree that lights up, a guard on rm -rf. These are the eight from my carousel, with the repo for each one and the exact commands to install it.
All eight need Claude Code 2.1.287 or later, where mods are on by default. Check with claude --version.

Prompt: let Claude install all eight
Open Claude Code anywhere and paste this. It checks your version, reads each README before installing and reports back in a table. Prefer to do it by hand? Each mod's commands are below.
The mods, one by one
Run each block in your terminal, then restart Claude Code.
Savvy Progress: a live progress bar
A bar above your prompt shows the plan and how many tasks are done. Type/agents-info for a panel of every subagent: its model, effort, progress, context, estimated cost and time. The cost is a rough estimate from token counts, not a bill. Source: johnnyvizz/claude-kit.
Claude Skins: reskin claude code
Redraws the transcript: tool calls get icons and timings, edits become diff cards, shell output sits in a terminal card. Seven skins, light and dark. Switch with/skin noir, /skin dracula and so on. The easiest first mod to try. Source: hellosverre/claude-skins.
You Should Know: flags what you'd miss
Built into Claude Code by Anthropic, so there's no repo to add. A second agent reads Claude's reply and pulls out what matters, such as "this overwrites 3 files you edited". You get Tell me more, I knew this and Dismiss.
Filetree: see every file touched
An IDE-style file tree beside the chat, with Git status. Files light up while Claude reads or edits them, and it costs zero tokens. It lives in the right sidebar, so it needs the fullscreen layout (/tui fullscreen) and a terminal at least 110 columns wide. Source: data-goblin/claude-code-filetree.
Cache Tax: know the cost first
After a break the prompt cache goes cold, and your next message pays to rebuild it. Cache Tax holds that message and shows the estimated cost first, so you can pay and send or start fresh with a short recap./keepwarm 90m keeps the cache warm while you step away. Those pings cost tokens too. Source: karanb192/claude-code-mods.
Blast Radius: stops risky deletes
Holds a risky shell command (rm -rf, git reset --hard, a force push, a migration) and lists every file it would change. You press Proceed, not Claude. Needs bash. On Windows, use Git Bash. Source: anthropics/claude-code-playground.
Reflect: turn fixes into rules
Say "no, in this repo we always use pnpm" and Reflect spots the correction, writes it up as a rule and asks where to save it: this project'sCLAUDE.md or the one for all your projects. One click and Claude stops repeating the mistake. Source: BayramAnnakov/claude-reflect.
Replay Theater: replay every edit
Type/replay and step through every edit Claude made in the last turn, one diff at a time, in order. Handy for reviewing a change before you commit it. Source: anthropics/claude-code-playground.
