Five free Claude skills that run your Instagram.

claude-content-skills is a free pack of Claude skills by Ootto, MIT licence. I counted 52 when I found it. It's 54 now, and they keep adding. You don't need all of them. Five cover what you post: reels, carousels, captions, your profile and your comments.

On their own the skills write and build, and you post. To let Claude post and DM for you, you connect your account. Step 07 covers both ways to do that.

What you need

The repo github.com/Ootto-AI/claude-content-skills.
Claude Code claude.com/product/claude-code. It needs a paid Claude plan. The skills are free; Claude isn't.
An Instagram account a Business or Creator account if you want Claude to post and reply for you (step 07).

The five that matter for Instagram

Reels	`reel-builder`	A shoot-ready reel plan: the script in your voice, the text on screen, a scene for each beat and the caption. `content-factory` runs the whole chain in one go.
Carousels	`carousel-builder`	Copy for every slide, a first slide that stops the scroll and a last one people save. `viral-carousel` studies carousels that took off in your niche first.
Captions	`caption-and-hashtags`	The caption, the hashtags and a first comment, with the opening line written for the bit people see before "more".
Profile	`bio-profile-optimizer`	A rewritten bio and name field, and which reels to pin. `profile-conversion-audit` tells you what's stopping visitors from following.
Comments	`comment-responder`	Replies to new comments in public, DMs the person what they asked for and logs them as a lead. `dm-script-writer` writes what to say next.

Install the skills

Type these inside Claude Code. The first line adds Ootto's repo as a plugin source, the second installs the pack:

No plugins? Clone it and run the install script. It copies the skills into ~/.claude/skills/:

Restart Claude Code either way.

Build a reel

Give reel-builder a topic or a reel you liked (Prompt 1). You get the script, the words on screen and what to show for each beat. Want it all in one pass, from research to caption? Ask for content-factory. It runs the other skills in order.

Build a carousel

carousel-builder turns one idea into slide-by-slide copy (Prompt 2). The first slide stops the scroll and the last is built to be saved, since saves are what Instagram rewards. Run viral-carousel first if you want it modelled on carousels already working in your niche.

Write the caption

Most people only read the line before "more". caption-and-hashtags writes that line first, then the rest, the hashtags and a first comment (Prompt 3).

Fix your profile

Paste your bio and your handle into bio-profile-optimizer (Prompt 4). It rewrites the bio and name field and tells you which reels to pin. For the reasons visitors leave without following, run profile-conversion-audit.

Answer comments and DMs

comment-responder replies to each new comment in public, without a link, and sends the link in a DM. Decide what you're giving away first (a guide, a checklist) and the keyword people comment (Prompt 5). Until your account is connected (step 07), it drafts the replies and DMs for you to send.

Connect posting

Two ways. Do it yourself: Ootto's free claude-instagram-autopilot repo connects your Instagram to Claude through Composio, which lets Claude post, reply and DM. It waits for your approval before anything goes live, until you switch that off. Hand it over: Ootto runs it all for you as a paid service. Check Composio's and Ootto's current plans before you pick.

Prompt 1: a reel

Use the reel-builder skill.
Topic: [one sentence, e.g. "the three Claude skills I use every day"]
Who it's for: [e.g. small business owners who post on Instagram themselves]
Length: [30-45] seconds
My voice: [3 adjectives, or paste two captions of mine]

Write three hooks first and wait for me to pick one. Then give me the beat-by-beat script, the text on screen for each beat, what to show in each scene, and the caption.

Prompt 2: a carousel

Use the carousel-builder skill.
Idea: [one sentence]
Slides: 10
The one thing I want people to save this for: [e.g. the checklist on the last slide]

Give me the copy for every slide, under 25 words each. Show me three options for slide 1 before you write the rest.

Prompt 3: the caption

Use the caption-and-hashtags skill.
The post: [paste the reel script or carousel copy]
Call to action: [e.g. comment GUIDE and I'll DM it to you]

Give me five options for the first line, the part people see before "more". Then the full caption for the best one, the hashtags and a first comment.

Prompt 4: your profile

Use the bio-profile-optimizer skill.

Rewrite my name field and bio, give me two alternatives, and tell me which three reels to pin and in what order.

Prompt 5: comments into DMs

Use the comment-responder skill.
Keyword people comment: [e.g. GUIDE]
What they get: [the link or file you're sending]
My tone: [e.g. friendly, short, no emojis]

Draft the public reply (no link in it) and the DM for someone who comments the keyword. Then do the same for someone who asks a question instead. Don't send anything yet, show me first.

Good to know

Free skills, paid Claude the pack costs nothing. Claude Code needs a paid Claude plan, and posting runs through Composio or Ootto, so check their plans.
Review first keep the approval step on until you trust what it writes. Posts on Instagram can't be deleted through the API.
Links go in DMs the public reply never carries a link. The DM does.
Use the rest later the other skills cover hooks, scheduling, analytics and trend spotting. Add them once the five above are working.
