Edit video inside Claude Code with Palmier.

Palmier Pro is an AI-native video editor you drive by talking to it. You connect it to Claude Code over MCP, then ask: import these clips, trim that one, drop captions on the talking bits, generate a background, export a vertical cut. The timeline is real (fixed fps, ordered tracks, frame-accurate clips), so the edits are precise, not vibes. Repo: github.com/palmier-io/palmier-pro.

What it does

import / search pulls your clips and assets into a project library.
timeline adds, moves, splits, trims, and speeds clips on real tracks.
captions transcribes and burns styled captions timed to the audio.
generate makes images, video, and audio to drop straight onto the timeline.
export renders the finished cut at the size you ask for.

Why it helps: you skip the editor UI entirely. No dragging clips around a timeline by hand. You describe the edit and it does the frame math, the trims, and the caption timing. Good for repurposing talking-head footage, batch-cutting clips, and folding editing into an agent workflow.

Set me up with the Palmier video editor inside Claude Code, then teach me to use it. Go one step at a time and confirm each step worked before moving on.

STEP 1 — INSTALL
- Open the repo and use its current install command: https://github.com/palmier-io/palmier-pro (the README has the exact MCP setup — it's an MCP server you add to Claude Code, e.g. via `claude mcp add ...`). Follow the repo, don't guess.
- Sign in / authorise if it asks (generation features need an account).
- Verify it's connected: ask "list Palmier tools" — you should see tools for timeline, media, clips, captions, and export. If you don't, stop and fix the connection before continuing.

STEP 2 — START A PROJECT
- Ask me where my clips are, and the output I want (vertical 1080x1920 Reel, square, or landscape).
- Read the project timeline once (fps, tracks) and import my clips into the library. Tell me what you found in each clip before cutting.

STEP 3 — CUT
- Propose an edit in plain English (which clips, in what order, where the trims and hard cuts go), confirm with me, then build it on the timeline. All timing is in frames: frame = seconds × fps.

STEP 4 — CAPTIONS
- Transcribe the talking segments and add clean, readable captions timed to the audio. Show me a frame to check the style before doing the whole thing.

STEP 5 — EXPORT
- Render the final cut at my target size and open it for me.

RULES
- One step at a time. Wait for my "ok".
- Generation/credits: if a step spends credits, tell me the cost first and wait for my yes.
- Plain, reviewable edits — show me what changed at each step, don't black-box it.
